Welcome to my site.

Back in the 1970s while working for a newspaper in Florida, I did a story on a fellow who made ships in bottles. I'd always assumed it was a tedious persuit designed for those with too much time on their hands. But after seeing how it was done, it actually looked like fun. I was soon hooked and wanted to have a go at it myself.

I picked up a copy of Don Hubbard's book SHIPS IN BOTTLES, originally published by McGraw Hill, New York, 1971, and started from there. The book has been reprinted and is available in its updated edition. I highly recommend it to anyone who would like to learn the art of building model ships and displaying them inside glass bottles.

I build ships for my own amusement.  I offer a few as gifts and I like to show them at local arts & craft shows.  Some are modeled after actual ships, some are my own creations. Feel free to check them out on Ship Photos.
